Description

A USB scanner, printer, or other USB devices do not show up in the ICA session.

Resolution

Complete the following steps to fix this issue:

  1. Start the ICA session.

  2. Log on to the Virtual Machine and click Preferences.

  3. Under the Desktop Viewer Preferences section, click Devices.

  4. Select Connect all devices automatically (that is available under When the virtual desktop starts and When a device is connected while the virtual desktop is running).

  5. Clear Simplify device connections for me (Recommended) if it has been selected, as displayed in the following screen shot.

  1. Restart the Virtual Machine. Log on to the Virtual Machine through the ICA session. The USB device will now be visible under Devices.


Problem Cause

This error might occur if the Desktop Viewer Preferences have not be set to automatically connect to the USB devices when the virtual desktop starts and or when a USB device is connected to the virtual desktop while it is running. It is also possible that the Simplify device connections for me option is selected.
