Description

When launching hosted applications delivered using RES Workspace Manager, Windows sometimes loses focus and appears behind other opened windows. In addition, when trying to select the application from the taskbar the selected window does not appear in the foreground and the taskbar icon flashes. Clicking on the taskbar icon in quick succession may bring the window back to the foreground.

Resolution

The required changes are needed to be implemented on the server side where the user's profile is loaded. Refer Q203064 New program window appears behind all other open windows.

Problem Cause

An application launched via RES Workspace Manager is started by pwrgate.exe which subsequently launches the hosted application. pwrgate.exe remains the active parent process and hence focus could sometimes be lost when switching between windows.

For more details on the cause and resolution, please refer to the following RES Software knowledge base article: RES Success Center.
