Description

StoreFront stops working from a full disk or a hard drive that is out of space. User Profiles are created on the Receiver StoreFront server for users of either Receiver for Web or Receiver clients.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you require a maintenance plan of scripted profile removal or group policy, depending on the organizational requirements.

You can remove roaming profiles by using the Delete locally cached copies of roaming profiles policy.

Note: If the profile paths of the users are defined in the Terminal Services Profile tab of the Active Directory, then the profile created on the StoreFront Server is a local profile and this is not affected by the policy. You must manually remove the local profiles by using a script or a third-party profile application. The User Profile Deletion Utility (Delprof.exe) referenced in CTX106533 – User Profiles are being Created on XML Broker Servers does not work with Windows Server 2008 R2.

Problem Cause

A user profile is created on the StoreFront Server when users authenticate to StoreFront. This login event creates a profile on the StoreFront Server.
Note: These profiles are created as local profiles on the server by the operating system.
