LSQuery

Created Date: April 24, 2012

Updated Date: September 13, 2013

Description

LSQuery is used to collect data from the Citrix License Server necessary to assist in troubleshooting at the time of an issue.

LSQuery v2.1 is compatible with License Server v11.11.1 and collects information and logs regarding the Citrix Web Services for Licensing.

Prerequisites

LSQuery can be run on any Citrix License Server for Windows v11.9 Build 11007 or later on one of the following Microsoft Windows platforms:

  • Windows Server 2003 32-bit and 64-bit editions
  • Windows Server 2008 32-bit and 64-bit editions
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit editions

Installing LSQuery

To install LSQuery, copy the LSQuery.exe and ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll files to the desired location.

How to Use LSQuery

To use LSQuery, run LSQuery.exe.

Click the help icon within the GUI, for more details.

Note: LSQuery does not work as expected on Windows Server 2012

Security Permissions Required by LSQuery

LSQuery must be run as a user with Administrative privileges for all features to be functional. LSQuery is User Account Control (UAC) aware and prompts for elevated permissions if run by a non-administrative account.

Data Modified by LSQuery

LSQuery does not modify any data on the Citrix License Server; it merely creates a zip file called with the following naming convention: servername-YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS-AM/PM.zip.

How to Undo the Changes Made by LSQuery

Delete the servername-YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS-AM/PM.zip file.

Uninstalling LSQuery

To uninstall LSQuery, perform the following steps:

  1. Delete the servername-YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS-AM/PM.zip file.
  • Delete LSQuery.exe.
