Locally Installed Management Console fails discovery with DCOM errors on server. Discovery fails while running the Delivery Services Console configuration and running discovery on a workstation displays Event ID 10016.
To resolve the preceding issue, complete the following procedure:
Permissions must be verified for DCOM access for cross network access to the farm information. Open Component Services, in the Administrative Tools.
Navigate to the My Computer node , right-click the icon, and select Properties.
Select the COM Security tab to set the Access Permissions and Launch and Activation Permissions.
The Access Permissions setting helps to edit the users or groups who are allowed default access to applications.
The Launch and Activation Permissions helps to edit the users or groups who are allowed to launch applications or activate objects.
To set the Access Permissions, click Edit Default in the Access Permissions section. Set the permission for access to the DCOM application (DSC), as shown in the following screen shot:
To set the Launch and Activation Permissions, click Edit Default in the Launch and Activation Permissions section. Set the permission for launching the DCOM application (DSC), as shown in the following screen shots:
After the permissions are set, the Delivery Services Console must launch without any issues.
If a DCOM issue persists, ensure that a COM+ Network Access Service is installed.
