Issue(s) Resolved in this Hotfix
1. This hotfix provides a patch to the target device that addresses the following issue against Provisioning Services 6.0 release:
BUG0262084: Imaging a vDisk will change the owner of the system32 folder from TrustedInstaller to System on Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows Server 2008/Windows Server 2008 R2 vDisk image.
2. This hotfix also includes the Target Device installation packages that contain the following hotfixes for Provisioning Services 6.0 release:
BUG0262084: Imaging a vDisk will change the owner of the system32 folder from TrustedInstaller to System on Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows Server 2008/Windows Server 2008 R2 vDisk image.
BUG0258446: Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows Server 2008/Windows Server 2008 R2 target devices cannot connect to PVS server across different subnets.
BUG0034058: Bnistack automatically configures the dedicated dump file causing the file to be created on the local drive.
Note: The full Target Device installation packages include the Hotfix CTX131204 (CPVS60E001).
Installing and Uninstalling this Hotfix
Notes:
• The user must have administrative rights to the server and target device.
• The hotfix applies to target devices with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 installation.
• The hotfix must be installed on the master target device.
To install this hotfix:
1. Download the hotfix package from the Hotfixes and Service Packs page of the Citrix Web site at http://www.citrix.com.
2. Copy the hotfix package to an empty folder on the hard drive of the server you want to install the hotfix from and unzip the file.
Steps to install the hotfix:
INSTALLATION
The hotfix includes the following files:
Target Device installation packages that contain the hotfixes:
PVS_Device.exe
PVS_Device_x64.exe
Patch packages to the target device:
TDPatch.msp
TDPatchx64.msp
Steps to install the hotfix on the Provisioning Services master target device:
If the target device software has not been installed on the master target device, you can use the target device installation packages included in this hotfix package:
1. Boot the master target device to the local hard disk.
2. Execute the appropriate version of the installation executable, you must have local administrator privileges to install the target device software:
a. if you are running a 32 bit system execute "PVS_Device.exe"
b. if you are running a 64 bit system execute "PVS_Device_x64.exe"
3. Use Imaging Wizard to create the vDisk image (for details, refer to Using the Imaging Wizard to Create a New vDisk on page 58 of the Installation and Configuration Guide).
If the target device software is already installed on the master target device then you can use the patch packages included in this hotfix package:
1. Boot the master target device to the local hard disk.
2. Execute the appropriate version of the installation executable, you must have local administrator privileges to install the patch:
a. if you are running a 32 bit system execute "TDPatch.msp"
b. if you are running a 64 bit system execute "TDPatchx64.msp"
3. Use Imaging Wizard to create the vDisk image (for details, refer to Using the Imaging Wizard to Create a New vDisk on page 58 of the Installation and Configuration Guide).
To uninstall this hotfix:
You can uninstall the target device software but you can not remove this patch from the target device.
