XenApp 6 server goes offline unexpectedly. Errors in the event log display the message: “The application specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID (24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48)”, as shown in the following screen shot:

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following procedure:

  1. In the services window, locate the Network Access Protection Agent (NAP) service, as shown in the following screen shot:

  1. Right-click the service and select Properties.

  2. Set the application startup type to Automatic, as shown in the following screen shot:

  1. Click Start to start the service.

  2. Restart the server.


Problem Cause

This error occurs when the Network Agent attempts to access the NAP Agent service on a client computer, where this service is disabled. This error does not occur on computers with an enabled NAP service. This service is disabled in Windows 2008 R2 by default.
