When attempting to create a catalog using Machine Creation Services (MCS), the wizard ends with the following error message:
"The Catalog could not be loaded due to the following errors: There are no master images associated with this catalog."
Additionally, the CDFTrace log file contains the following entry:
“Failed to consolidate disk, exception Citrix.ManagedMachineAPI.ManagedMachineException: Storage not found”
The error message appears even though the master virtual machine starts, registers, and shuts down as expected, before starting the XenDesktop Wizard.
The Storage information for the creation of the catalog is saved locally to the XenServer.
In the Storage tab, select Detach option to temporarily remove the hard disk from the virtual machine.
Select Attach to re-create the connection between the hard disk and virtual machine.
The Device Position displays “0” after making these changes and does not display any error message.
Another way of resolving the problem is to edit the Properties of the disk and change the value of Device Position, as shown in the following screen shot:
This error is a result of an incorrect configuration of the hard disk in the master virtual machine. The XenDesktop Wizard displays the Hard Disk per VM size as “0 GB”, as shown in the following screen shot:
This incorrect value of the hard disk is traced to an incorrect configuration of the master virtual machine in XenServer and displays the Device Position value for the local storage as 1, as shown in the following screen shot:
