This article describes alternative methods of replicating print drivers and printing settings in XenApp environments.

• XenApp 6.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2

• XenApp 5.0 on Windows Server 2008 

Background

XenApp version 5.0 and earlier used Citrix Management console to replicate print drivers and printing settings. In XenApp 6 and later versions, PowerShell and other tools or methods provided by the operating system are used to replicate print drivers and printing settings.

Instructions

To replicate print drivers and printing settings, complete the following steps:

1. Add the appropriate option:

For Windows Server 2008 R2

Add the option for Print Server under the Print and Documents Services role.

For Windows Server 2008

Add the option for Print Server under the Print Services role.

2. Use the Print Management Administrative Tool (printmanagement.msc) or PrintBrmUI.exe to export and import print drivers and printing settings.
