This article describes how to set up and configure a NetScaler VPX appliance.

Instructions

To set up and configure a NetScaler VPX appliance, complete the following procedure:

1. Download the NetScaler VPX appliance from the mycitrix.com Web site using your credentials.

2. Install the appliance by using the Import option of the Citrix XenServer.\

3. Log on to the console by using the nsroot credentials.

4. Receive the license for the NetScaler VPX appliance from Citrix by using the Media Control Access (MAC) address of the Virtual Machine.
   Note: The MAC address on the Virtual Machine in the Network tab of the XenCenter. Ensure that you use this value without embedded spaces or colons.

5. Form the local computer, access the appliance from a Web browser using a Web address similar to the following:
   http://<IP_Address_of_NetScaler_VPX_Appliance>
   When installing the appliance, the installation process prompts for the IP address and the network mask. Run the ifconfig command to verify the IP address of the appliance.

6. Log on to the Configuration utility of the appliance by using the nsroot credentials.

7. On the Navigation bar, expand System.

8. Click Licenses.

9. Click the Manage Licenses link.

10. Locate the license on the local computer and add the license to the appliance.You can also use an FTP utility to upload the license to the appliance.

Note: When attempted to reduce the memory for the appliance from 1024 MB to 512 MB for the virtual machine, it was observed that the IP address configuration of the appliance disappears. Additionally, an error message during the startup process is displayed stating that the minimum required memory for the appliance is 1GB.
