Important Notes about This Release

  • Caution! After installing this version of the plug-in, you can no longer downgrade to an earlier version of the plug-in. To revert to an earlier version of the online plug-in, remove the current installation and then install a new copy of the previous version.
  • Caution! This release may require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Issues Fixed in This Release

The following issues have been fixed since the previous release of this product:

Content Redirection

  1. With content redirection for Microsoft Office enabled, the desktop right-click menu item that allows users to create a new Office document is not available.

    • If Remove Citrix XenApp shortcuts is enabled at the Web Interface site, this fix works instantly - the shortcut removal properly refreshes the registry configuration on the client once the plug-in is logged off or exits.
    • If Remove Citrix XenApp shortcuts is disabled at the Web Interface site, users must:
      1. Point their plug-in to an alternate Web interface site with shortcut removal enabled.
      2. While connected to the alternate Web interface site, log off or exit the session.
      3. Restart the plug-in and reconnect to the original Web interface site.

HDX MediaStream

  1. With HDX MediaStream for Flash enabled, YouTube video fails to render in published applications and virtual desktop sessions. This is the client-side fix that corrects the issue. To resolve the issue in its entirety, you must also install Hotfix XDE400VDAWX86002 or XDE400VDAWX64002 on Virtual Desktop Agents running on Windows XP (required). For Virtual Desktop Agents running on any other operating systems, these hotfixes are recommended.

    [#231228]

Logon/Authentication

  1. This enhancement introduces support for the following registry key that allows you to add application shortcuts to the Start menu:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: ShortCutEnabled
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#217992]

  2. The plug-in logon screen minimizes to the notification area after 60 seconds. This enhancement introduces support for the following registry key that allows you to configure how long the logon screen remains on the screen before minimizing to the notification area:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: LogonDisplayTimer
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: <desired delay, in seconds, before the logon screen minimizes; set to 0 (zero) to prevent the logon screen from minimizing>

    [#222155]

  3. Credentials pass-through (with Kerberos disabled) fails when launching a session from a Web Interface site or ICA file and using Version 12.0 of the plug-in.

Credentials pass-through requires the following configurations:

    • Enable "Local User name and password" and "pass-through authentication" on the client device via a Group Policy as described in Knowledge Center article CTX113004. In the absence of the GPO setting, credentials pass-through is not available.
    • Add the Citrix server's site address to the Local intranet or Trusted sites zones in the Internet security options of the client device. The address may include wildcards (*) or be as specific as <protocol>://<URL>[:<port>].
      • For Web Interface launches, add the exact address of the Web Interface site. Examples: https://my.company.com; http://10.20.30.40, http://server-hostname:8080 https://SSL-relay:444.
      • If connecting to XenDesktop using Desktop Viewer, add: desktop://<Desktop Group Name>. If the desktop group name contains spaces, replace each with "-20".
      • For launches using a custom ICA file, use one of the following formats for the Citrix server's site address when adding it to the Local Intranet or Trusted sites zones in the Internet security options on the client device:
Example, if the ICA file contains an 'HttpBrowserAddress', make the following entry:
        XMLBroker.XenappServer.example.com:8080
Example, if the ICA file contains only the XenApp Server 'Address' field, make the applicable entry:
        icas://10.20.30.40:1494 or icas://my.xenapp-server.company.com or ica://10.20.30.40
    • On devices where any of Versions 12.0, 12.0.1, or 12.0.2 of the online plug-in is or was at some point installed (including applying CTX124871), delete the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\ICA Client\Client Selective Trust" registry key for each user. This requirement also applies to devices where Knowledge Center article CTX124871 was applied.

    [#232383]

Printing

  1. When using the Citrix XPS Universal Printer driver to print a Microsoft Word document that contains both portrait and landscape pages, all pages are printed in portrait mode. This causes content on the landscape pages to be trimmed to fit portrait orientation.

    [#194634]

  2. Plug-ins might become unresponsive for 60-90 seconds while attempting to validate inaccessible print servers or orphaned printers.

    [#206382]

  3. Novell printers fail to autocreate on systems with Fixes #204377 and/or #206382 installed.

    [#212197]

Seamless Windows

  1. Pressing Shift + Alt while in a published application changes the input locale on the server side. As a result, the client-side language bar can be out of sync with the actual language on the server.

    [#206876]

Session/Connection

  1. In multiple monitor environments, seamless application windows can appear clipped after being repositioned if the application's memory requirements exceed any Local Video Buffer (LVM) memory constraints configured through the Degrade resolution first farm setting. This fix introduces support for the following registry that allows such applications to launch in fixed windows instead:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\Thinwire3.0
    Name: ResolutionOverSeamless
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: 1

    [#212978]

  2. Plug-ins can become unresponsive when launching applications that access client drives.

    [#213221]

  3. The following error messages might appear while attempting to launch a published application: "The requested resource has been removed from the server" or "Application no longer available from the Citrix server, or the specified user no longer has access to it." The issue occurs if the farm name in the XenApp Services site is changed and the online plug-in is not restarted. It can also occur if the farm names between the primary and backup XenApp Services sites are inconsistent; for example, Farm1 and Farm 1.

    [#216671]

  4. When launching seamless published applications using the 11.2 plug-in, the application might appear behind local windows or out of focus.

    [#216880]

  5. In certain client configurations where both Citrix Receiver and the online plug-in are installed, disconnecting from a non-seamless session causes the disconnection dialog box to appear behind the session window.

    [#21840]

  6. Connections through a proxy might fail if SSL is used and the proxy requires connection to be made by name rather than address.

    [#218682]

  7. When using the plug-in with Internet Explorer and a client-side proxy, applications fail to launch. The issue occurs because the plug-in attempts to use a direct connection to the XML service instead of using the proxy configured in Internet Explorer.

    [#221047]

  8. After refreshing applications from the online plug-in, launching applications fails if the Web interface switches to a different farm.

    [#221135]

  9. The client name is not updated correctly when reconnecting from a different client device to a disconnected pass-through session from a static ICA file located on a published desktop.

    [#229704]

  10. After upgrading to Version 12.0 of the plug-in, application launches through Secure Gateway or Access Gateway can fail.

    [#232136]

  11. In Web interface and Dazzle scenarios, session sharing fails when a Client Selective Trust is created. This happens when a remote application or device invokes the File Security dialog box asking permission to access the client device and the user selects "Do not ask me again for this site."

    [#232809]

System Exceptions

  1. The Citrix Print Viewer (cpviewer.exe) can exit unexpectedly if the default printer is not defined in the registry. This fix removes the requirement.
