Description
CtxLicChk is a License Server (LS) monitoring tool, geared towards testing the License Server’s ability to dispense a license.
Prerequisites
CtxLicChk can only be useful when run on a XenApp server, 4.5 or later.
Installing CtxLicChk
No installation is required, as it is a single executable file. You simply run it as needed.
How to Use CtxLicChk
This is a command line utility. You can run it manually, or leverage it as a Citrix Health Monitoring and Recovery Test to get alerted (or take action) if there is a license checkout problem.
Usage:
CtxLicChk <LicenseServer> <LicenseType>
Example: CtxLicChk 10.1.2.3 MPS_ENT_CCU
In the first (yellow) outline in the screenshot above, you can see the usage instructions by simply running CtxLicChk without any parameters. In the second (orange) outline in the screenshot above, you see an example of the actual usage.
Example of using as a Health Monitoring and Recovery (HMR) test:
1. Add CtxLicChk to the \Program Files\Citrix\HealthMon\Tests\Custom\ directory.
2. Create a new custom Health Monitoring and Recovery (HMR) test using the Access Management Console.
3. Be sure to select Allow running custom Health Monitoring tests.

Be sure to set the appropriate recovery action within HMR for this test and be aware of the consequences for the different types of recovery actions within HMR! See CTX112283 - [Document Not Found] for more information.

Simply delete the executable file CtxLicChk.exe.
