While configuring Active Directory machine account password management in the virtual disk file properties, the machine account password expires after the determined value timeout without successfully changing.

Apply Microsoft hotfix KB969837 on the Vista and Windows 2008 target devices.

Workaround

Restarting the Provisioning Services Server Device service on the Target side as a local administrator can temporarily fix this behavior. 

Problem Cause

This is a known issue with streaming Microsoft Vista and Windows 2008 Server. During the password change, the LSASS service fails on the Target Device and a manual password reset is required through the Provisioning Services Server console or the Microsoft Command Line Interface.
