Description

The CTXReports tool runs checks against a XenApp farm to verify the environment health.

This tool can be used to capture the following data of a XenApp Farm:

Farm Connection Limit Settings
Farm CPU Optimization Settings
Farm Memory Optimization Settings
Farm License Server Settings
Farm Access Control Settings
Farm ICA Keep Alive Settings
Farm ICA Settings
Farm Application Isolation Settings
Farm Metaframe Settings
Farm Session Reliability Settings
Farm SNMP Settings
Farm Speed Screen Settings
Farm Published Application Name

Server Hotfix List
Server Published Application Names
Server Load Evaluator Name
Server Presentation Server Edition
Server ICA Port Number
Server RDP Port Number

Server Zone Preference
Server ICA Keep Alive Settings

Prerequisites

 
  • Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server
  • MetaFrame Presentation Server XP Feature Release 3, a Higher Version of Presentation Server, or XenApp 5.0

How to use CTXReports 1.0

1. Run the utility by double clicking on CTXReports.exe.

2. Select the servers for which you want to capture data.

a. The All Farm Servers option automatically populates the list with all servers in the farm and checks all of them for capture.

b. The List Servers option automatically populates the list with all servers in the farm; no servers are checked for capture.

c. The List Zones option automatically populates the list with all farm zones, no zone is checked for capture; all servers in the checked zone have data capture.

d. The This Server Only option populates the list with the current server only and checks it for capture.

3. Check the boxes for the information you want to capture from the farm and servers.

4. Click the Edit | Set Log File Path... option to set the directory where you would like to same the log files.

a. The default directory is .\CTXReports, and is created, if not present.

5. Click Capture to begin the data capture process.

6. Wait until the process finishes; and the progress bar disappears.

7. A new cabinet file is created with all the log files in the Log File Path directory.

Data Files Captured by CTXReports

 
  • XML file - This file contains all the data for the farm, servers and server settings.
  • *.hive files - These files contain the registry keys captured by the tool, and can be opened with regedit.exe or regedt32.exe.
  • *.evt files - These files contain the eventlogs and can be opened by with the Event Log mmc snap-in.

Uninstalling CTXReports 1.0

No un-installation is necessary; simply delete the executable from the computer.

Security Permissions Required by CTXReports 1.0

This tool requires a Citrix Administrator account with at least read only rights, and remote read access to the registry and event logs on all servers on which data is being captured.

Data Modified by CTXReports 1.0

No modifications are done by the tool.

How to Undo the Changes Made by CTXReports 1.0

Not applicable.
