This article describes how to retain printer settings in ICA.
Note: There are certain settings that can be taken from the local printer of the user and applied to the auto-created printers of the user. These settings can also be retained in the users profile to be applied upon the next logon.
The following settings can be applied to an auto-created printer of the user:
From the system tray, go to Properties in the Printing Preferences option of the local printer on the General tab.
Settings in the Device Settings tab.
The settings highlighted (refer image) in the Advanced tab.
Note: If you intend to auto-create your printers with the Citrix Universal Print driver, you cannot use the Print directly to the printer option because this would disable EMF printing. So when a printer is auto-created with the Citrix Universal Print driver, it automatically sets it to Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster.
To retain these settings to be applied on the next logon and to the auto-created printer settings of the user, verify the following:
The settings listed in the previous section are the only settings that can be retained from auto-created printers and the same conditions apply.

Use the Citrix Universal Print driver which works for most printers. This carries the capabilities of the local printer into the session. Use the native driver if the Citrix Universal Print driver does not work for any printer.

There are three ways to retain the settings which are controlled using a Citrix policy. Click Help within the policy to see which of the three settings would work best for your environment.
