When users launch applications from a Store website, the ICA file may be downloaded without the .ica extension.
As a result, the downloaded file is not automatically recognized as an ICA file and does not automatically open with the Citrix Workspace app.
The issue occurs when Citrix Workspace app client detection is not working or has been skipped.
The issue can occur across multiple browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
This issue is caused by a regression introduced in the Citrix StoreFront 2607 release.
The following workarounds can be used depending on the configuration and scenario.
Manually rename the downloaded file
Manually add the .ica extension to the downloaded file and then open the file with the Citrix Workspace app.
Switch to the modern experience
Enable Modern Experience. For more information, refer to the Citrix documentation: UI Experience
Install the Citrix Workspace app web extension
Install the Citrix Workspace app web extension for the affected browser.
Enable Client detection
If the user previously selected Skip detection, they can log in to the StoreFront store, open Account Settings, and change the launch method to enable detection of the Citrix Workspace app.
Enable Citrix Workspace launcher
If the Citrix Workspace launcher, which is enabled by default, has been disabled, re-enabling it can be used as a workaround.
For more information, refer to the Citrix documentation: Enable Citrix Workspace Launcher
Protocol handler platforms regular expression
If the Protocol Handler Platforms regular expression has been modified to exclude specific browser user agents, the issue may affect all users accessing the store from those browsers.
As a workaround, revert the value to the default configuration.
