Description

Citrix Director displays blank/missing logon durations and exhibits delays populating real-time session details.

Cause

The Citrix-XenDesktop-BrokerMonitor/Operational event log channel on the Delivery Controllers is either excluded, unforwarded, or restricted due to a Windows Event Forwarding (WEF) subscription or Group Policy configuration.

Resolution

Remove the Windows Event Forwarding policy settings applied to the Delivery controllers.

  1. Open Group Policy Management and Navigate to  Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Event Forwarding
  2. Set the WEF-related policies to Not Configured, as appropriate.

Steps to Unlink or Delete the WEF Group Policy Object
If the entire GPO is dedicated to WEF:
  1. Open Group Policy Management (gpmc.msc) on a Domain Controller or RSAT machine.

  2. Expand your domain tree and locate the Organizational Unit (OU) where the WEF GPO is linked.

  3. Unlink or Delete:

    • To temporarily disable for a target OU: Right-click the GPO under the OU and uncheck Link Enabled, or right-click and choose Delete (this unlinks it from the OU without deleting the GPO itself).

    • To remove permanently across the domain: Right-click the GPO under Group Policy Objects and select Delete.
