Description

NetScaler Console Service or OnPrem fails while trying to generate a certificate using ACME with the error "Failed to fetch data. Request failed with status code 400".

This can be caused by the name used in the "Certificate name" field. The name used in the field only allows the following characters:

  • A-Z (capital letters)
  • a-z (lowercase letters)
  • 0-9 (single-digit numbers)
  • "-" (minus sign)
  • "_" (underscore)

In the screenshot example, we can see that the "." (period) symbol is used, which is not allowed in this field.

Resolution

Change the name used in the "Certificate name" field so that it only contains allowed characters.

Using the screenshot example, the name "subdomain-testdomain-com" would be acceptable and would not cause the error.
