Description
On Prem CVAD customers may see the following error when creating or updating a catalog hosted on a XenServer pool:
Error: ProvisioningTaskError, Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
Other functions that interact with the Hypervisor such as power on/off, work correctly, it is only creating or updating a catalog that is affected.
Cause
the Hosting Connection in Studio was configured to point to a XenServer host (eg XenServer1) that was no longer the Pool Coordinator (Pool Master), looking at the XenCenter showed that the current Pool Master had changed to another XenServer Host in the same Pool.
Resolution
This issue will be been fixed under BugID: CVADHELP-32727 and will be available in a future CVAD release.
As a workaround, customers can do 1 of the following to correctly create/update a test catalog:
- Change the Pool Master from back to the original XenServer host listed as the Hosting Connection in Studio.
- Change the Hosting connection in studio to point to the new Pool Master
