Description

  • Defining Start OUs:

    • Create a New Administrator Account for each OU the administrator should access.
    • Define Start OU for each account:
      • Set a specific OU as the start OU for each administrator. This limits visibility to that OU and its sub-OUs.
      • Example: Setting OU1 as the start OU for admin1 ensures that admin1 only sees OU1 and its subordinate OUs.
  • Grouping Multiple OUs into a Base OU:

    • Create a New Base OU and move the OUs to be accessed into this as sub-OUs.
    • Set the newly created base OU as the start OU for the designated administrator.
  • Disabling OU Visibility:

    • Right-click on the OU, go to Object Rights, select the specific administrator account, and go to Edit Object Rights.
    • Disable the Visible Field (set it to red) for all OUs the administrator should not see.
    • Repeat for each OU the administrator should not access.

Issue/Introduction

Administrators may need limited access to specific Organization Units (OUs) within the Scout Console.

Additional Information

To control administrator access to specific OUs in Scout Console, use start OUs, base OU grouping, or disable visibility by setting object rights.
