Description

Creating a new machine Catalog in DaaS was not showing MCS option.

This was a previously working environment, which had a working hosting connection and previously created MCS machine catalogs.

Checks showed the hosting connection was working fine, existing MCS machine catalogs continued to work as expected.

Internal investigation showed unexpected Metadata in the customer zone configuration.

Example screenshot shows no MCS option available:

Cause

DaaS WebStudio may limit access to zones with specific MetaDataMap. This will be addressed in a future release.

Resolution

Use a machine with Citrix DaaS Remote PowerShell SDK installed and run commands which will do the following:

  1. List all zones and output their information.
  2. Display only the zone of interest using the Zone UID
  3. Remove Zone Metadata
  4. Display again the zone of interest to ensure Metadata has been removed.

Commands list:

  1. get-ConfigZone
  2. get-ConfigZone -Uid "<Zone UID>"
  3. get-ConfigZone -Uid "<Zone UID>" | % {Remove-ConfigZoneMetadata -ZoneUid $_.Uid -Map $_.MetadataMap}
  4. get-ConfigZone -Uid "<Zone UID>"
