Downloading Webex Logs from an eLux device

On an eLux device, Webex log files are stored at the following path:

/tmp/WebexVDIMeetingLogs-xxx

Where "xxx" varies per session. Ensure you locate the specific folder for your current session.

Uploading Webex logs via Scout Diagnostic template

Log files can also be uploaded using the Scout diagnostic template. Before initiating a request for diagnostic files, add the following paths to ensure all relevant logs are included:

/tmp/WebexVDIMeetingLogs-xxx/*
/tmp/WebexVDIMeetingLogs-xxx/VirtualChannelLog/*

Locating Webex Logs on Hosted Virtual Desktop (HVD)

On HVD (e.g., a Windows VDI session), log files can be found by:

  1. Going to Help > Send Problem Report within the Webex application.
  2. Navigating to: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\webexmta
  3. Download the latest .zip file, which contains the session’s log files for diagnostics.

Note: Replace [username] with the appropriate Windows username for the session. This .zip file can then be shared for further analysis.

Issue/Introduction

Webex log files may be required for troubleshooting issues on eLux devices or within virtual desktop environments (VDI/HVD). This article explains where Webex logs are stored on eLux, how to upload them using the Scout diagnostic template, and where to find them on hosted virtual desktops.
