Description

When performing an eLux update on a Fujitsu S7011 after a BIOS upgrade, the process may fail and display the following error:

"Loading jwk to TPM2 failed"

This issue is known to occur on this particular Fujitsu model due to how the device handles TPM keys and encryption. Because of these limitations, the model is blacklisted for certain TPM‑related operations.

Cause

The failure is caused by incompatibilities between the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip and the device’s encryption configuration after the BIOS update. Residual TPM keys or encryption settings can prevent eLux from loading required components into TPM2.

Resolution

1. Clear the TPM Chip

  • Enter the BIOS settings on the Fujitsu S7011

  • Navigate to the TPM configuration

  • Select Clear TPM

  • Restart the device and attempt the eLux update again

2. Disable Encryption (if clearing TPM does not resolve the issue)

  • Disable encryption on the device

  • Ensure that the partition encryption package is not enabled in your .idf file, which is part of the BaseOS package

  • Retry the eLux update

Issue/Introduction

After updating the BIOS on a Fujitsu S7011 device, the eLux update may fail with the error message "Loading jwk to TPM2 failed". The issue is related to TPM behavior and encryption settings specific to this hardware model.
