Description

The onboarding process requires the eLux device to communicate with the Scout server over specific network ports. If firewall settings or network rules are blocking this communication, the device cannot obtain the list of organizational units. Adjusting the firewall configuration and verifying network connectivity typically resolves the issue.

Cause

Blocked or misconfigured network communication between the eLux device and the Scout server prevents the device from retrieving the list of organizational units during onboarding.

Resolution

  • Check firewall settings:

      • Ensure that the firewall settings on both the device and the network are correctly configured to allow communication with the Scout server.
  • Create necessary firewall rules:

      • Verify the required ports for communication between the eLux device and the Scout server.
      • Create rules to allow traffic on these ports. The required port details are available in the official documentation (IP ports).
  • Verify network connectivity:

      • Confirm that the eLux device can reach the Scout server using the specified address.
      • Test connectivity by pinging the Scout server from the eLux device or using network diagnostic tools.
  • Restart the onboarding process:

      • After adjusting the firewall and verifying connectivity, retry the onboarding process by specifying the Scout server address on the eLux device

Issue/Introduction

This error appears during eLux device onboarding when the device cannot retrieve the organizational units from the Scout server. It is most commonly caused by blocked or misconfigured network communication between the device and the Scout server.
