Users have reported that multimedia devices occasionally become unavailable (grayed out) within Jabber and Webex applications. Although the devices are recognized by the system, they cannot be selected or used. This behavior is linked to USB redirection settings in the Citrix Workspace app for Linux, configured via the .idf file in ELIAS.
The issue is caused by USB redirection being enabled in the .idf configuration. This setting interferes with multimedia device availability in Jabber and Webex. Disabling it resolves the problem and ensures consistent device functionality.
1. Access ELIAS and edit the .idf file:
Open ELIAS, navigate to your device’s .idf file, and open it for editing.
2. Deactivate USB redirection:
In the .idf, locate the Citrix Workspace app for Linux section.
Deactivate the option HDX Plug-n-Play USB

3. Save and apply the .idf file:
Save the changes to the .idf.
Update the device with the modified .idf, ensuring a flash format is applied.
4. Verify resolution:
After updating, verify that multimedia devices are selectable and functional in Jabber and Webex.
Multimedia devices may intermittently appear grayed out in Jabber and Webex, even though they are detected by the client. This issue can be resolved by modifying the device configuration to disable USB redirection.
