Attempts to configure sharing of master images between subscriptions within the same tenant raise questions regarding whether tenant-level configuration is required.
Attempts to use a master image from a region different from the one configured in the host connection fail.
The configuration steps commonly referenced apply only to scenarios involving image sharing across different tenants.
When working with subscriptions within the same tenant, tenant-level configuration is not required. Instead, appropriate Azure RBAC permissions must be assigned to the Service Principal.
Support for using a master image from a different region than the host connection has been deprecated. The master image must reside in the same region as the host connection
For subscriptions in the same tenant:
Assign the necessary Azure RBAC permissions to the Service Principal to enable access to the master image.
For cross-region scenarios:
Replicate the master image to the required region before use.
Use Azure Compute Gallery as the recommended method to replicate master images across regions.
