Description

Customer found some discrepancies in the graphs of cost optimization in DAAS console.

1st, there are 2 types of cost saving displayed in Citrix Monitor, one is currency, the other is percentage. the price of compute and storage is different, why the total percentage can be added directly?

2nd, suspect the calculation algorithm is not accurate, how to calculate the unit price?

Cause

The percentage calculate based on total savings, not calculate on compute and storage separately.

Resolution

Answer 1

The reason why you can add the storage and compute percentage and have it equal to the total savings percentage is because the interface actually calculates everything as a total savings. So in the following example, the cost savings report would get the savings of 50% first, then show the parts of that 50 percent that's attributed to storage and compute.

for example:

in the example, when it shows total savings = 50%, and showed 25% storage saving and 25% compute savings, it is actually saying you saved a total of 50% and out of that 50% savings - 25% is attributed from storage and 25% is attributed from compute.

Answer 2

The unit price is fetch by Microsoft Azure API, Citrix calls the API and calculate the unit price and powered off time of auto scale.
