Citrix ADC cannot load received-routes into its routing table since the route is inactive.

Description

  • eBGP between VPX1 and VPX2 is in established.
  • VPX1 and VPX2 are able to ping each other.
  • VPX1 advertises route to VPX2.
  • VPX2 learns the route in its BGP database, but are not installed in its routing table.
  • Route learned in BGP database will be marked as 'Inactive'
  • There is default route pointing from VPX1 to reach VPX2 and vice versa.

Resolution

Add a static route from VPX1 to VPX2 and vice versa in ZebOS route table.

Problem Cause

  • ADC maintains different routing table for dynamic routing protocols.
  • Route not getting installed is by design.
  • Unless the nexthop is reachable, bgp route will not be installed. (nexthop is reachable when we have a route for nexthop prefix in zebos routing table)
