Description
After installing a Citrix VDA, non-administrator users lose direct RDP access to the server.
Cause
For security reason, a new local group called Direct Access Users is created on each Virtual Delivery Agent.
To restore RDP access for non-administrators, you must add those users to this new "Direct Access Users" group on the VDA machine itself.
Resolution
- Open Computer Management:
- On the VDA machine, right-click the Start button and select "Computer Management".
- Navigate to Local Users and Groups:
- In the left-hand pane, expand "System Tools" and then "Local Users and Groups" to see the available groups.
- Open the Direct Access Users Group:
- Double-click the "Direct Access Users" group to open its properties.
- Add Users:
- Click the "Add" button, then enter the usernames of the non-administrators you want to grant RDP access to.
- Apply Changes:
- Click "Check Names" to verify the users, then click "OK" and "Apply" to save the changes.
