Removing CVAD site registration from a PVS Farm

Description

When running the PVS configuration wizard, PVS administrators choose to Join a Citrix Cloud site or on prem CVAD site

  • PVS registration with Citrix Cloud site or on prem CVAD site enables Webstudio creation of PVS targets. 
  • Once either option is selected "Join your farm with..." on a single PVS server in a PVS farm, all PVS servers in that farm must register with that Citrix Cloud site or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Site.
  • The PVS console will show PVS servers status as "Registered" only when they each have been registered with a Citrix Cloud site or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Site, by running configuration wizard on each PVS server.

 

There is currently no option in the user interface to change this registration later.

  • Once any PVS server in a PVS farm is registered with a Citrix Cloud site or on prem CVAD site, the PVS configuration wizard on each PVS server will always prompt to communicate and validate the previously used Citrix Cloud site or on prem CVAD site.
  • If the CVAD site is no longer available, if it has been retired or rebuilt, configuration wizard will be unable to progress to completion, as the CVAD site it has registered against is no longer available.
  • Similarly if a customer wishes to change registration from on prem to cloud, or between different CVAD sites, they do not have an option.



Cause

Citrix PVS engineering are aware of this requirement for future product releases.

Resolution

Customers should open a support case and reference this knowledge base article for assistance with these requests involving removing or changing PVS registration with a CVAD site.

Citrix support engineers can follow the internal Knowledge Base notes for handling each request.

Issue/Introduction
