Virtual channel plugin manager is designed to deploy plugins across client endpoints for specified applications. The plugin manager detects specific applications running on the VDA and prompts the user to install the plugin on the endpoint to achieve the best experience when running the application. See https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/multimedia/virtual-channel-plugin-manager.html for details on the feature. As of July 2025, the feature is supported for Microsoft Teams -- providing a way for customers to deploy Teams plugin needed for SlimCore Optimization
Starting Teams versions 25163.3611.3774.6315, the virtual channel plugin manager fails to validate the Microsoft Teams application on the VDA. Because of this, plugin manager fails to pop up the plugin install dialogue even if everything is in order with regards to pre-requisites and configuration
Virtual Delivery Agent 2402 CU2, Virtual Delivery Agent 2411, Virtual Delivery Agent 2503
On Citrix side, customers are recommended to upgrade to VDA releases 2507 (or) 2402 CU3 to resolve this issue
On Microsoft Teams side, this issue is fixed in Teams version 25198.1109.3837.4725 or above, released on Aug 7, 2025. See Teams version history for details
Note: Customers do not need to upgrade both Citrix and Microsoft side components. Any one side (either Citrix (or) Microsoft) fix will resolve the issue.
