  • This Update is for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2503 Single Session VDA. Any known issues in Version 2503 of the VDA, except for the specific issues resolved in this release, still apply.

New Fixes in This Release

This fix resolves the cursor placement issue occurring in single-session VDAs when used alongside the Microsoft July 2025 Windows patches. For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX694932.

Installing and Uninstalling this Release

To install this Update:

Use the following steps to apply this Update:

  1. Log off from all sessions running on the VDA for Single-session OS
  2. Rename the files Vidd.dll, Vidd.inf & Vidd.cat under C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd to Vidd_2503.dll, Vidd_2503.inf & Vidd_2503.cat
  3. Copy the downloaded files Vidd.dll, Vidd.inf & Vidd.cat to C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd
  4. Refer to the Driver Installation Instructions section below to complete the driver setup. After the installation is successfully completed, restart the VDA to ensure the changes take effect.

To uninstall this Update:

Use the following steps to revert this Update:

  1. Log off from all sessions running on the VDA for Single-session OS
  2. Refer to the Driver Rollback Instructions section below to complete the driver setup. 
  3. Remove the files Vidd.dll, Vidd.inf & Vidd.cat from C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd
  4. After the re-installation is successfully completed, restart the VDA to ensure the changes take effect.
  5. Rename the existing file Vidd_2503.dll, Vidd_2503.inf & Vidd_2503.cat in C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd to Vidd.dll, Vidd.inf & Vidd.cat

Driver Installation Instructions

To install the Citrix HDX vidd driver, use one of the following methods:

Graphical Installation

  1. Navigate to the driver directory:
     C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd\
  2. Right-click the vidd.inf file.
  3. Select Install from the context menu.

Command-Line Installation

  1. Open an elevated Command Prompt (Run as Administrator).
  2. Execute the following command: 
    pnputil /add-driver "C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd\vidd.inf" /install

Driver Rollback Instructions

To revert the Citrix HDX vidd driver, use one of the following methods:

Graphical Installation

  1. Log off from all sessions running on the VDA for Single-session OS
  2. Rollback to previous drivers using Device manager  
    • Open Device Manager
    • Select Citrix Indirect Display Adapter in Display Adapters
    • Select Properties, then switch to the Driver tab.
    • Initiate Driver Rollback by Clicking Roll Back Driver, choose a reason, and confirm with Yes.

Command-Line Installation

  1. Open an elevated Command Prompt (Run as Administrator).
  2. Execute the following command:

pnputil /delete-driver "C:\Program Files\Citrix\HDX\Drivers\vidd\vidd.inf" /uninstall /force
