When using Microsoft Teams within Windows 10 VDA with Citrix Workspace App (CWA) for iOS, users experience an issue where tapping the left-side menu items (such as "Activity," "Chat," or "Call") does not respond and cannot be toggled.

This problem occurs with a high frequency (about 95% of the time) and is reproducible on multiple CWA versions.

The issue is specific to Windows 10 (including 22H2 with the latest updates) and does not occur on Windows 11.

The problem is not dependent on the VDA version (tested from VDA 2203 CU2 to VDA 2503) and does not affect the web version of Teams. Notably, disabling the "multi touch" option in CWA resolves the issue.

  • Microsoft Teams (in the VDI environment) is not correctly handling or differentiating between touch events and mouse events when running inside Citrix Workspace App with multi-touch enabled.
  • Microsoft has confirmed that the iOS and Android versions of Citrix Workspace app are not officially supported for running the new Teams VDI.
  • This means the usage scenario described has not been fully tested by Microsoft and may not function as expected.
  • As a result, issues encountered in this environment will not be addressed or resolved by Microsoft support.

For full compatibility and support, use platforms and Workspace app versions that are officially listed as supported for Microsoft Teams.
