A Zone is present on Citrix Cloud DaaS Studio, which references a previously deleted Resource Location. The name of the zone might be the friendly name of the former Resource Location, or it will display a GUID on the Zone name.

There are two possible resolutions to this behavior:

• If there are Machine Catalogs or Hosting Connections under the impacted Zone, these need to be moved to a new zone. Once moved, the Zone should self-delete if the Resource Location is no longer present. 
  
  • This can be achieved by right-clicking the items within the Zone, and selecting Move Zone. 
• If there are NO items in the Zone, and the Zone persists, it can be deleted through the Citrix Cloud Powershell SDK

Problem Cause

On Citrix Cloud DaaS, Resource Locations are the Zones on the Citrix Cloud DaaS Studio. 

• When the Resource Location is deleted, to avoid orphaning the Machine Catalog or Hosting Connection records within the Zone, the Zone is kept around until the items can be moved out of the now-defunct Zone and into a functional Zone.
• After several weeks of being left around, the friendly name of the former-Resource Location under the Zones category might change to the GUID record the Citrix Database has on file for the Zone.
