Number of backup files that retains in the SDX appliance


Instructions

By default, SDX creates a backup every 24 hours using a backup policy. Using the backup policy, you can define the number of backup files that you want to retain in the SDX appliance.

 

Edit the backup policy

1. On the Configuration tab, click System.

 

2. In the Policy Administration pane, click Backup Policy.

3. In the Configure backup policy pane, perform the following:

 

 a. In the Previous backups to retain field, type the number of backup files you want to retain.

 

Note:

 

By default, the editable number of “Previous backups to retain” is “1 ~ 10”.

Default value: 3

Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: 10

 b. To encrypt the backup files, select Encrypt Backup File check box.

 

 c. In the Password and Confirm Password fields, type and confirm the password to encrypt the backup file.

 

**Note:
Please make sure to verify the configuration in the test environment first. .
 

Additional Information

The “Maximum value” of backups to retain can be changed via the NITRO API.
