When launching the "Console Installer" it tries to install the prerequired software which includes Edge WebView2. In some cases when installing it from the iso, Edge WebView2 might not show up in "appwiz.cpl" or "Apps and Features". If you start the "Console Installer" again it is shown as "not installed" and tries to run the installer again, leading to the same result.

To install Edge WebView2 on a per-machine basis the installation has to be run from an administrator account or from an elevated command prompt. Furthermore, MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe needs to be allowed to run to finish the installation.

Problem Cause

From version 2402 and above, WebEdgeView2 is required. To complete the installation, access to MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe is required. Without running the installer as an admin or from an elevated command prompt, the installation will only be on a per-user basis.
