Description

You may observe that when an interface on a NetScaler MPX is disabled, and a user subsequently performs a reboot, the transmit (Tx) laser for that interface might not power off as intended. This can lead to the peer switch detecting the NetScaler's disabled interface as still being UP.

Resolution

The issue is addressed in following versions:

  • 13.1 Build 52.19 and later builds
  • 14.1 Build 21.57 and later builds

Release Note:
Build 52.19 | NSPLAT-28484, NSHELP-35272
When the interface configuration is disabled, the Tx Laser might not be OFF after the appliance is restarted.

Problem Cause

We've identified an area for improvement within the PE attach function. Previously, a system flag related to interface status was being incorrectly marked during the PE activation process. This has been addressed to ensure accurate representation of interface disable/enable states during PE bring-up.
