Description

To explain how to backup and restore WEM Configuration Sets and Settings on Cloud.

Instructions

Configuration Sets and Settings from Workspace Environment Management (WEM) on Citrix Cloud can be backed up as JSON files. Here is an overview of how to do this.

To Backup
  1. Login to Citrix Cloud Console
  2. Click Manage under Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
  3. On the WEM page, at the top, click Manage and ensure you are using the Web rather than Legacy Console.
  4. Go to Configuration Sets
  5. Click Backup and Restore
  6. Click Backup
  7. Select the Configuration Set you wish to back up and whether you wish to backup the Configuration Set or simply Settings. Enter a name for the backup.
  8. There is an option tick box "Save a copy of the backup to your local machine" - if this is selected, in addition to creating a backup on cloud, it will save the Configuration Set in an easily readable JSON format (this will only be a few KB and can be viewed in any text editor). Save it your local machine.
    • For an extra layer of disaster recovery, you may wish to save these to shared storage on which routine backups are done in case backups are unintentionally deleted from cloud.
  9. Click Backup
  10. You will see the backup now listed in your list of backups.

Note: There is an option on the Backup and Restore Page to perform Automatic Backups which can be done daily or weekly. Be aware this only backs up Configuration Sets. If you want to just backup settings, this must be done manually.

To Restore:
  1. Login to Citrix Cloud Console
  2. Click Manage under Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
  3. On the WEM page, at the top, click Manage and ensure you are using the Web rather than Legacy Console.
  4. Go to Configuration Sets,
  5. Click Backup and Restore
  6. If you've created backups, simply click the small restore icon to the right of your backup (it will look like a small clock) and follow the prompts to restore the backup.
  7. If you've accidentally deleted your backup but have saved a JSON copy as per the Backup instructions above, click Upload and upload the JSON and a backup will now be available to restore.

Refer to Configuration Sets in our documentation for more detail.
