Cloud Software Group has decided to end of sale (EOS) on October 31st, 2023, and end of renewal (EOR), end of life (EOL) on May 31st, 2024, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Essentials in the Azure Marketplace. This move is designed to improve our product line and deliver superior value and user experience to our customers.
Reason for Change:
The decision was reached to align with Microsoft's termination of its Azure first-party marketplace integration and to support its third-party marketplace.
Impact and Outcome:
- October 31st, 2023 - End of Sale (EOS): No new customers will be allowed, but existing customer can renew without expansion or reduction until the end of renewal on May 31st, 2024.
- May 31st, 2024 - End of Renewal (EOR): Existing customers will not be able renew their subscriptions.
- May 31st, 2024 - End of Life (EOL): The product will stop working and will be removed from the Azure Marketplace.

- Can you buy DaaS on the same Orgid where Essentials is currently running?
No, you will need to onboard a new Orgid and/or use an existing Orgid where you currently don't have any Essentials running there.
- Where can I find more information about the upgrade?
Please refer to the documentation here for the steps to upgrade to DaaS.
- Can I migrate my existing workspace URL to my new DaaS Orgid?
Yes, after you have purchased and onboard the new DaaS service, you may change the workspace URL on the existing Essentials and then immediately claim that in your DaaS workspace URL.
- Can I use Automatic Configuration Tool (ACT) with Essentials?
Unfortunately, ACT only supports DaaS and cannot be used for Essentials migration.
- Is the transition to DaaS Automatic?
No. Customers have to purchase DaaS on a different Orgid and set it up.
- Can I use the same Azure subscription that I used for Essentials with the master image for DaaS?
Yes, you can use the same Azure subscription that you used with Essentials along with the master images to create new Catalogs in DaaS.
