Summarize the webcam name formats in ICA session of single session Windows OS.
Instructions
In the ICA session, the webcam name might be displayed differently as below in different applications.
(1) Citrix HDX Web Camera
(2) Citrix HDX Webcam - Client_Webcam_Name
(3) Client_Webcam_Name
* Client_Webcam_Name represents the real webcam device name on client machine.
(1) Citrix HDX Web Camera
Webcam is working on DirectShow framework which is intended to be replaced by Media Foundation.
(2) Citrix HDX Webcam - Client_Webcam_Name
Webcam is working on MediaFoundation framework.
Applications added in whitelist can working in this kind of format.
To add application into whitelist, a key with the name of application executable (e.g. amcap.exe) need to be create under
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_Dlls\CtxMFPlugin
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_Dlls\CtxMFPlugin
DWORD “HookProcess” = 1
(3) Client_ Webcam_Name
The webcam is launched on client side, so the real webcam device name is displayed in the application.
For example, Teams with optimization enabled.
