Description
With Elastic Layering (Apps Only) enabled, gpupdate /force may report an error while applying some group policies.
Resolution
If elastic User layers are enabled (or using UPL) be sure you are running version 2306 or later. Out of band UPL updates can be requested from support.
If elastic apps without user layers are enabled, you will need to set a manual exclusion for two folders.
- Please make a new app layer specifically for these user exclusions. Although any layer will work, using a separate layer is recommended.
- Put the below paths into a new text file in c:\Program Files\Unidesk\Uniservice\UserExclusions\. We suggest calling it GroupPolicyHistory.txt (the .txt extension is required).
- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Group Policy\History\
- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Group Policy\Users\*\History\
- Then include this app layer in the image and your GPO's should all apply.
