Resolution

Note: This issue is resolved in PVS 2308.

Below is a workaround for PVS releases prior to 2308.

This issue is reported internally for resolution in a future release (tracking reference CVADHELP-23213).
While this workaround is only required while running PVS Configuration Wizard, it is required each time configuration wizard is run.

Steps:

  1. Rename the windows builtin local administrators group, ensuring it is spelled as “Administrators” (as below).
  2. Run PVS Configuration Wizard and successfully apply the PVS farm configuration to the PVS server.
  3. Undo the name change, returning to original spelling.

Example of required spelling:

Problem Cause

In non-English language versions of windows, the local administrators group may have a different spelling.
For example, German language installs the group is called “Administratoren”

PVS Configuration Wizard assumes the existence of a local group spelled "Administrators".
Configuration wizard will exit prematurely if a group with the spelling "Administrators" is not present.
