Description

After VDA upgrade from 1912 to 2203, apps are not launching. Showing error "The Citrix server cannot currently process the request to launch this published application." A MetaFrameEvent is logged on the VDA "Ensure that the application is installed, and that the user has permission to launch it."

Resolution

  1. Go to Settings > System > About, launch Advanced system settings
  2. Click Environment Variables 
  3. Under System variables, edit 'Path', and edit line C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\System32\ and replace with C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\HDX\bin\.

Problem Cause

Missing \HDX\Bin from system environment variables on VDA. Previous VDA versions used \Citrix\System32.

Issue/Introduction

Apps not launching after upgrading VDA to 2203.
