• Attempts to use the Outlook Search index roaming feature might fail with no permission to access the VHDX file.
• The issue occurs after upgrading Profile Management from version 1912 LTSR to version 2203 LTSR or 2203 LTSR CU1.
• UPM outlook VHDX files do show up in the user's profile store and the search folder on the VDA appears with folder icon instead of .vhdx icon as shown below, indicating that Outlook search Index vhdx mount failed.

• Ideally Outlook search Index vhdx icon should look like this:

• Before upgrading to CVAD 2203 from 1912 LTSR, you had configured the UPM policy "Enable Search index roaming for Outlook " which used to work fine. However, since the upgrade to CVAD 2203 LTSR or CVAD 2203 CU1, the UPM outlook search indexing seems to be broken.
• Procmon logs show access denied \\sss.local\dfs\ctxupmprofiles\username\Win2016x64\VHD\Win2016\OutlookSearchIndex.vhdx 
• UPM logs show and Network Error when accessing \\sss.local\dfs\ctxupmprofiles\username\Win2016x64\VHD\Win2016\OutlookSearchIndex.vhdx .
• Below error is seen in UPM logs.

• As per  https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX235347/citrix-profile-management-vhdxbased-outlook-cache-and-outlook-search-index-on-a-user-basisChecked  checked and confirmed that Domain Computers group has NTFS permissions set to Full Control on the User Profile Store. 
• Giving users or Everyone full access on the User Profile store fixes the issue.

• For the migration scenario, there is an private fix available under CVADHELP-20957  for backward compatibility. Please reach out to Citrix customer support to get the private fix if you are hitting the same issue.
