This article describes how to exclude contents of user's Downloads Folder from UPM profile.

You want an empty "Downloads" folder to be created everytime a user logs into using UPM profile. User should be create files in the "Downloads folder" in the ICA session but after logoff when the user logs in using UPM profile the next time, the downloads folder should be empty.


 

Instructions

To meet the above objective, apply the below UPM policies:
 
  • Add item “Downloads” to the Exclusion list – directories
  • Add item “Downloads\desktop.ini” to the Files to synchronize
  • Set Logon Exclusion Check policy to "Ignore excluded files or folders" or "Delete excluded files or folders"
  • Make sure Downloads and its subfolders\subfiles not in the Profile container, Folders to mirror, Directories to synchronize and Files to synchronize. (Except the file Downloads\desktop.ini should be added to Files to synchronize.)
