Description

When Remote PC has a hardware monitor connected to it physically the GPU is not able to use all the Virtual Monitors in Citrix Session. 

Resolution

This is an expected behavior. When designing your Remote PC, you must consider the number of physical monitors connected to the GPU. Even though the hardware monitor is not used in the session, the hardware monitor is counted towards the max supported monitor limit by the GPU.

Problem Cause

  • It was identified that the GPU used in the environment supported only 4 Monitors.
  • The PC had one hardware monitor connected to it physically. 
  • Since the Remote PC had one hardware monitor connected to it physically and since the GPU supported only 4 monitors at a time, GPU can have only 3 Virtual monitors. Additional Virtual monitors will use Citrix IDD Display adapter.

Issue/Introduction

Windows VDA with GPU is not able to use all the Virtual Monitors.
