Description

What actions from Citrix are needed when a service account password is changed?

Instructions

  • Delivery Controllers use their Active Directory computer accounts to authenticate to SQL. Computers automatically change their AD passwords every 30 days by default. There is no service account for the SQL login
  • For the Studio Hosting connection, you will have to manually update the new password by editing the hosting connection. Sometimes, This might require a restart of Citrix Host service on all the Delivery Controllers(One after the other) to refresh the connection between delivery controllers and hypervisor
  • For PVS Services, The services will keep running on the cached credentials until you reboot the PVS servers or restart the PVS SOAP and Stream services. Once you change the Password, let it propagate in AD, run the PVS Config Wizard(One after the other) on the PVS servers to refresh the credentials. The Target devices are expected to rebalance to the other PVS Server if needed
