Session Recording Agent installation failed with Error 1920, below events are logged on VDA
Application Event log
Event ID : 11920 with message Error 1920. Service 'Citrix Session Recording Agent' (CitrixSmAudAgent) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
System Event log
Event ID: 7003 with message Citrix Session Recording Agent service depends on the following service: SessionRecordingDriver. This service might not be installed.
Environment
Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.
Resolution
- Back up the system.
- Uninstall Session Recording Agent.
- Delete the following registry key.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SessionRecordingDriver
- Restart the machine.
- Install Session Recording Agent.
Problem Cause
Session Recording driver information remained on the Virtual Delivery Agent after the failed uninstall \ Installation
