Description

After the Host is booted into the installer kernel it gets stuck at following screen

Resolution

  1. Switch to Host ILO console after the upgrade is started. 
  2. When the server is booting up Press E key on keyboard to edit the kernel that is configured to boot, which will be "Rolling upgrade".
  3. Locate the line that starts with "linux /boot/vmlinuz"
  4. Append "modprobe.blacklist=hpsa" to that line to disable installer kernel from loading hpsa driver. 
  5. Press ctrl+x to start booting the kernel. 

Problem Cause

hpsa module fails to load.
