Description
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to remove a node from your on-premise Endpoint Management cluster. The process involves shutting down the node intended for decommission. The Endpoint Management system's Hazelcast service will then recognize the node as inactive and automatically remove it from the cluster after a certain period.
Instructions
Removing the node:
- Access the Command Line Interface (CLI) on the node you wish to remove from the cluster.
- Navigate to the Main Menu and select option [2] for "System."
- Choose option [11] to "Shutdown server." This action will initiate the shutdown process for the node.
Confirming the node's removal:
After shutting down the node, verify that it has been successfully marked as inactive and is being removed from the cluster. This verification can be done from any of the remaining nodes in the cluster, either through the GUI or the CLI.
Using the GUI:
- From the Endpoint Management console, click the gear icon (top left corner) to access "Troubleshooting and Support."
- Select "Cluster Information" to view the current status of the cluster and confirm the removal of the decommissioned node.
Using the CLI:
- From the Main Menu of the CLI on any remaining node, select option [1] for "Clustering."
- In the Clustering menu, choose option [1] to "Show Cluster." This command will display the current cluster configuration, allowing you to verify that the node has been marked for removal.
